Bio Bhutan has been maintaining strong linkages with many agencies of the Royal Government of Bhutan. Be it the National Organic Programme or the Social Forestry Division, the Biodiversity Center in Serbithang, the Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority or the Agricultural Research Stations in Yusipang and Mongar, the Ministry of Industries or the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industries… Bio Bhutan requires the support and relies on strong ties.
3 Decades of Trade Relation
Trade Relations with Primavera Life GmbH in Mittelberg-Oy in Allgäu exist since 1991, when Kurt L. Nübling and Ute Leube visited Bhutan upon invitation by the Royal Family.
Today, 27 years after the first visit, Primavera regularly purchases high value essential lemon grass oil in food grade drums and natural soap from Bio Bhutan enterprise.
The partnership does not end here. Primavera Life returns a considerable percentage of the sales of the soap to Bhutan. The beneficiaries are underprivileged youth looked after by the Youth Development Fund of Bhutan
Organic certification is the backbone of the enterprise. Bio Bhutan obtained the first third party organic certification in the year 2005. Throughout the years, Government officials & Bio Bhutan have worked hard to train farmers in achieving high standards of organic farming.
