Ginger is used as a spice and flavoring agent in cuisines and tea. It is consumed whole as a delicacy, medicine or in tea. It is on the ‘FDA’s generally recognized as safe list.’ Ginger is classified as simulative and carminative. It has analgesic, sedative, antipyretic and antibacterial properties.
The characteristic odor and flavor of ginger is caused by a mixture of zingerone, shogaols and gingerols.
Bio Bhutan offers 45 grams of high-quality ground ginger in user friendly containers, and bulk quantity in powdered and preprocessed sliced (dried) form. Our highly aromatic ginger is grown under organic conditions by farmers at Dekiling, Sarpang District, Southern Bhutan.
